It began as Kyungsung Precision Industry, and the company manufactured steel tubing and parts for bicycles. They are currently part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, which went into effect in May of 2016. • Nissan Repair and Service Founder Yoshisuke Aikawa became president of Nihon Sangyo in 1928. The name “Nissan” is derived from the ticker name on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Nihon Sangyo debuted in the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 1933. Nissan then came over to the U.S., where they established the Datsun brand in 1958. After the war, it was important for them to change their approach in order for the business to survive. That is when they turned to making automobiles.
