Sakichi Toyoda created the world’s first automatic loom, which, in turn, led him to creating Toyoda Spinning and Weaving Company in 1918. The Platt brothers paid Toyoda £100,000 for production rights. His son, Kiichiro, used the money he was given by his father to use for developing automotive technology. They launched their first ever vehicle in 1936, the Model AA, and Toyota Motor Company was born. Fast forward to today and Toyota still produces models like the Camry, Corolla, Prius, Rav4, Tundra, and Tacoma.
