On May 1, 2017, Karl Schmeling became the owner of Mike’s Service Center. Karl worked closely with Mike Borlee for 10 years and is excited to continue serving the Green Bay community and working to grow the business.
A Message from Mike Borlee
Customers, Colleagues, and Friends:
For 44 years, 1698 Main Street has been my home away from home. It has been a place that proved to be more than just a shop, further, a hub generating countless learning opportunities to grow as a mechanic, entrepreneur, business leader, and community partner. Thirty eight years ago, my boss, the late John Watermolen, provided an opportunity for me to become a business owner – a term I define today as something very different than I did decades ago. It is with that reflection that I am excited to pass along the same opportunity to my long-time employee of eleven years, Karl Schmeling.
As of May 1, 2017, Karl has accepted this opportunity and is the current owner of Mike’s Service Center. Karl and I will work closely to ensure a smooth transition throughout the next many months and I will be available on a part-time basis to answer your questions. I have great trust that Karl will continue to provide the service that you, my loyal customers, vendors and community partners, have experienced the last 38 years.
Words cannot express the thanks and gratitude I hold for those I have built relationships and bridges with throughout my time at Mike’s Service Center. It has been a privilege providing service to you all. The community of Green Bay has been extremely supportive to me and my family. I hope that loyalty will continue as Karl carries the legacy of Mike’s Service Center forward.
